Rui Meireles is the Director of Health, Life and Employee Benefits at MDS Portugal, a position he has held since March 2023. He began his professional career in the insurance sector in 1994 as a Sales Manager at Mapfre Vida. In 1998, he joined MultiCare, a health insurer, where he was responsible for underwriting coordination, portfolio management, and operations. In 2008, Rui Meireles joined Generali Insurance, where he served as Health Insurance Director. In 2014, he was appointed Chief Underwriting Officer for Health and Accidents, and in 2017, he assumed responsibility as Chief Underwriting Officer for all non-life lines of business. In 2019, he joined the Insurtech start-up Planicare as an Executive Board Member, overseeing Product Development & Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, and Operations. He holds a degree in Sociology and has completed executive programmes in General Management and Leadership. Since 2023, he has been the Director of Personal Insurance at MDS Portugal.
