Dorota Baryś is currently the Head of Mission at the Embassy of Poland in Portugal. She holds a master’s degree in Hispanic Studies from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and began her professional career at Philips Lighting Poland. Since 2000, she has been dedicated to diplomacy.

Throughout her career, she has served as consul at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Mexico and at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo, and later as Consul General in Curitiba. After returning from Brazil, she led the Department of Cooperation with the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, and subsequently served as Deputy Director of the Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy.

Between 2014 and 2017, she was the Director of the Polish Institute in Madrid. Following this assignment, she focused on global education at the Department of Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2018 to 2024, she served as Deputy Director of the Department of the Americas, heading the department from November 2023 to September 2024.

In 2023, she was awarded the Order of Rio Branco, Grand Officer class, by the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil. She has been a public servant since 2010.
