Cláudia Cavadas
PharmD and PhD in Pharmacology, University of Coimbra | Portugal

Cláudia Cavadas is a scientist and Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra, Portugal. For nearly three decades, she has combined research, teaching, and science communication with a focus on inspiring and empowering the next generation of scientists.

She leads the Neuroendocrinology and Aging Group at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC-UC), part of the Center for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology (CiBB). Her research explores neuroendocrine mechanisms that regulate aging and combat age-related disorders. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and coordinated more than 20 research projects funded by national and international agencies.

Professor Cavadas is deeply committed to bridging education and research, having supervised nearly 50 graduate students and taught courses in pharmacology, drug screening, histology, and science communication.

She has also held several leadership roles, including Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Schools at the University of Coimbra (2019–2023), Vice-Chair of the Coimbra Group, and President of the Portuguese Society of Pharmacology.
